I haven't joined in Vee's Note Card parties in the past simply because I always got stumped as to which four photos from my blog I should use.
Just four...oh my.
This time it was easier to limit myself to four.
I selected the snowflakes I have photographed in the past week or so with my new 60mm lens.
The lines behind the snowflakes are frozen condensation that have been wiped away but which left a trace behind which froze again.
I've learned so much about snowflakes!
They are not each perfect, as in totally symmetrical.
In fact to find one that is even close to symmetrical is very very rare.
Each tiny molecule that begins a snowflake soon gathers bumps and those bumps influence the way the snowflakes grows.
Such elegant creations!
I see piles of white snow shoveled high around my house and plowed into a muddy slush on the road ways.
Each flake had a unique design; each flake had a brief life, each flake will sooner or later be no more.
I am humbled to see the delicate beauty that God endows to such a creation; a creation that for the most part will never be admired save by God himself.

Total lavish extravagance...I like how you said that only God Himself enjoys the vast majority of these creations. I'd buy a set! Say, are you thinking of going that route?
Amazing and so delicate. I'm so glad you have been able to share your captures of something most of us never see in person.

How exquisite. Vee summed it up perfectly.
Absolutely stunning photos! Wow. I had no idea snowflakes were so beautiful up close and that they aren't perfectly made. Beautiful post.
Incredible photography and an interesting bit of snowflake history. Well done!
Inspiration - heading out later today and hoping to capture some beautiful snowflakes!
WOW! I love snowflakes! Gorgeous and thanks for the info, too!
Amazing! Snow finally came at my house this afternoon, and the flakes were the biggest (over 2" wide!) and wettest flakes I've ever seen. Everything is white now. Looking at your photographs tonight them looking out my window is almost overwhelming when I think of how much fun our God must have had creating snowflakes. Unbelievable the attention He gives to each of us humans!
