Easter Bonnet Time

This sweet little lacy straw bonnet was on display in the window of the antique store I pass every day on the way to work. It took a couple of days to find the time to go inside the store AND to find it open all at the same time. The store has a sign out front: "Open whenever I am here-The Management." Her schedule and mine rarely match!

The tiny braids of straw were in perfect condition, and the flowers would revive nicely with a touch of steam. Sadly it was a 21 inch crown, and my noggin is a 22 3/4 inch size. It was tempting to buy it just for display, but really it deserves to be worn to a lovely garden tea party, with gloves and a frilly frock.

I took this picture a few weeks back, thinking it might help inspire some hat wearing this Easter and Springtime.
At the very least it has now served to get my mind off the news for a moment.
I might just start wearing frilly hats with a pin that says "I'm not going to worry my pretty little head about anything-I'm going to use it to wear a hat instead!"

Wouldn't that at least be more attractive than sticking my head in the sand during these trying times?
Of course it would!

How much was it? It's totally cool, looks like a paglina braid sworled about. It makes me want it...or at least it gives me one big old idea! I've got braid ;)

Shoot. .that would fit me. .why don't they have those in shop windows here?
Wear a bonnet at Easter and let your head be used for the prettiest of details.

Hat Diva: The hat was $30, but there was a 20% off sale too...oh boy was it hard to leave behind at that price.

I like that pin idea! I love the hat, too. Hmmm...wonder what hat size I wear?

What a cute bonnet.
Wouldn't I surprise everyone if I were a bonnet.
That would be different than my ball hat.

Nice hat!

I'm so bummed I won't be able to wear a hat to church on Easter. Long story. So on with that, I didn't get new hats made this year, even though I really wanted too. I've got Mommy & Me Easter dresses almost finished though. :)

Trust Jill to do an 'Easter bonnet' post! So sorry the head won't fit the hat...it is quite lovely. A 'mature' lady once gave me this advice..."when you entertain guests, just put flowers on the table and don't worry about the rest". I'm sure you would have a similar philosophy about hats..."just put a hat on your head and the rest will look after itself"!

Oh, So lovely! Happy Easter! I happen to know you have many pretty Easter bonnets to choose from. Hope the snow fades and the flowers pop through. Raining here today but I don't complain as it's wonderful for the garden. Just put my Meyer Lemon out on the deck for the season. They promise us sun tomorrow.
Hugs,
Kate Q:-)
