Mother's Day

Hi all. I haven't posted this week because I got very violently sick on Saturday night and was hospitalized on Sunday. My favorite Mother's Day present was a big push of Dilaudid into my IV. If you are ever in serious pain, try it...you will like it.

If I can hang onto my food for 24 hrs perhaps I can go home tomorrow. My colon is definitely goofed up. The labs results show it isn't food poisoning and two doctors hold two different opinions on what is going on. Nothing can really be confirmed until the colon heals and can be scoped.

Right now the antibiotics makes all food taste horrible, and with each bite I take I wonder if it will stay in me. I simply do not want to eat; I think I have discovered a miracle cure for appetite.

It's been a rough five days. Today is the first time I have felt well enough for B. to bring me my laptop. He has been by my side each day, and Laura has been "on call" literally as she is training out of the area. Her professional knowledge is priceless to me as it is difficult to know when to head to the Emergency room or when to ask for something different during care. (My favorite tip from her: ask for baby wipes..the hospital has them, and regular hospital tissues are really rough...)

I am praying that the colon heals super fast, and that my mouth and stomach also return to normal. I just want to be well...and go home.

Now this was not a good Mother's Day present. Sorry to hear you are under the weather...and hope things are looking up soon!

oh dear! Glad to see you still have your sense of humor intact; otherwise, I'd REALLY worry! Dan found out where the nurses keep the stash of patient food and would make runs to pillage it for me. Tropical fruit punch gatorade was my favorite. Will be praying.

Hello Jill, I've been worried about you, and now I see for good reason. I join in your prayers for a quick and complete healing, and for wisdom for the doctors. God bless you!

I am definitely praying for you. I just can't believe this is happening to you. I had noticed you were gone, but I thought that maybe you had traveled somewhere that had a bad connection.

I am praying for food to taste good, healing of your colon, divine guidance to the doctors, and for you just to plain old get better and come home from the hospital.

Happy Mother's Day when you come out of the hospital...don't count it as a done holiday until you can celebrate it at home healthily.

Keep us all posted. And God bless you Jill.

Oh my goodness, Jill! I have been wondering and worrying about you...and praying for you! What a week you've had. Tummy troubles of any sort - big or small - are no fun at all. I know you wish that Laura was still right there, but at least she's within reach (I love her tip!). And poor Mr. B! I know from experience what it's like to be the spouse at the bedside - waiting and worrying and feeling helpless at times.

Don't be in a big hurry to leave the hospital before you're physically ready to (I know that emotionally and mentally, you are past ready!). Take care of yourself, and I'm still praying for complete recovery and health!

I'm certainly praying with you that you will be well enough to go home today. What a terrible week for you. It does remind us all that we should be thankful for good health. . .
I'm also praying that your Doctors will unite and recieve some wisdom on what is causing this for you.
Take care. . .(((((hugs))))))

Heavens! I've been out of the loop awhile and didn't know you'd been sick. Hope you recover quickly! Sounds similar to the ordeal Beryl has just come through which started with antibiotics taken for a toothache.

Keeping you in my thoughts.
Hugs,
Kate
