We had a lovely Christmas....there will more about that later on another post.
For now, while everyone is full to the gills with all the Christmas treats and batting back the whispers that say "I will be good and exercise later..."
Let it be known that snowshoeing does burn calories and allows one to enjoy winter's special beauty.
I wrestled with the fact that this time I would be snowshoeing alone.
It felt so lonely to think about going out alone.
No friends who I could call and invite to come along, and Bernie is still recovering from his knee surgery.

It's beautiful. And cold! You were taking all of us along with you too, you know.
There's a quiet peace in snowy woods that comes through your photos well. They look almost Narnian.
A beautiful place to snowshoe! We have a "Millcreek" near our home too! I love how quiet and peaceful it is when hiking on snowshoes.
Looks wonderful! I'd love to do that. I'm in DC and it snowed here yesterday. Seventh heaven for me.
I'd be out there with you in a heartbeat, Jill, if not for 1) distance and 2) the knee.
I love the purity and peace of a new snowfall.
You continually amaze me! I own snowshoes; I find it some of the most challenging, painful exercise known to mankind. What kind do you have? (I have something from L.L.Bean, which causes my hips to ache almost immediately.) So, if you don't mind, I won't do any snowshoe sharing from my corner and just enjoy what you share from yours. Your "church" is incredibly lovely. Praying for Bernie and a swift recovery.
So pretty! I wouldn't know what to do with snowshoes...but I'm tempted to find out.
Such a beautiful winter world!
Those photos are so amazing. I am always amazed what you do alone. I would have loved to do that with you though.
